Opioid Abatement Funds
Application Instructions for Town of Orange Opioid Abatement Funds
The Town of Orange is committed to using abatement funds recovered from statewide opioid settlements to help supplement and strengthen the resources available to our community and families for substance use disorder prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery.
The Statewide Commitment to Abatement directs the use of these funds to be used by municipalities to implement the following 7 strategies:
- Opioid Use Disorder Treatment
- Support People in Treatment and Recovery
- Connections to Care
- Harm Reduction
- Address the Needs of Criminal-Justice-Involved Persons
- Support Pregnant or Parenting Women and their Families, Including Babies with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
- Prevent Misuse of Opioids and Implement Prevention Education
How to Apply
For those interested in utilizing the Opioid Abatement Settlement Funds from the Town of Orange, please submit a letter of interest to the Town of Orange Board of Health regarding use of the funds with the following information:
1. Contact Information
- First and last name of the primary contact
- Name of organization (if applicable)
- Type of entity applying (e.g., individual, business, non-profit)
- Mailing address
- Email address
- Phone number
2. Details of Funds Requested
- Amount of funding requested (maximum: $5,000)
- Indicate whether the request is one-time or a renewal
- Budget breakdown detailing how funds will be allocated
3. Description of Funding Use
Project Summary: Describe the project or intended use of the opioid abatement funds (limit: 100 words) Alignment with Abatement Priorities: Explain how the project addresses one or more of the seven state strategies listed above (limit: 100 words)All letters must be submitted to the Board of Health by contacting the Health Agent, Ashley Gough.
Each award will be reviewed by the Orange Board of Health, and no single award will exceed $5,000. Awards are subject to availability of funds.
